Location

The Point Villas are located on Whakamoenga Point, set within 58 acres of native bushland and exotic plantings on the edge of spectacular Lake Taupo in the centre of New Zealand’s North Island. From your private terrace and deck enjoy these native forests and the changing hues and reflections of Lake Taupo’s Mine Bay. Dramatic mountain views of Ruapehu, Tongariro, Ngauruhoe and Pihanga can be seen across the lake from the Estate.

As The Point Villas form part of the exclusive "The Point" estate, with its full security access, and are only 10 minutes’ drive from the thriving township of Taupo, guests enjoy both complete privacy and the convenience of being close to a myriad of public amenities and services.

The Point Villas are a 3 hour drive south from Auckland or 4.5 hours north from Wellington. Alternatively, Air New Zealand have several daily flights from either Auckland or Wellington to Taupo. Rental cars and private charter flights can also be arranged.

Directions to The Point Villas

Directions from the NORTH:

Turn RIGHT off SH1 at the top of the hill leading down to TAUPO;
LEFT into ACACIA BAY ROAD;
Follow towards ACACIA BAY;
Pass the restaurant and Acacia Bay Store;
Continue straight ahead - making no turns - into WAKEMAN ROAD.
Proceed for 5-6 minutes until you meet The Point Security Gate.
In front of the gate is a stone pillar. To the left of the pillar is the punch pad.
Put in the gate code (to be supplied to you) followed by # (hash) and the gates will swing open.

Take the lower road to the left, turning right at the T junction.
THE POINT VILLAS are at number 24 across the road from the tennis courts.
There is ample parking for up to 4 cars on the property.

Directions from the SOUTH:

Drive through TAUPO on SH1, cross the bridge and turn left into NORMAN SMITH STREET then left into ACACIA BAY ROAD.
Follow towards ACACIA BAY and proceed as above.

Approximate driving time is 10 minutes from Taupo Township.
